What It Takes

Now that I am able to record at my leisure at home, or away, I have the space to really spend time getting my performance the way I want it.

Previously I was spending other people's time and my money.

There are some basic sketches of songs already underway but with no immediate deadline there could be the possibility that in the quest for perfection, which is a tall order given my fledgling skills, that nothing will be completed for a long time.

So I have set myself a challenge.

The festive season is fast approaching and although I have not still written a holiday song I am happy with I have decided to record my reworking of a holiday standard.

The production of it will be very simple just piano, voice and a few backing vocals but in order to create a really good sound and performance a level of skill, knowledge and expertise is required.

I know I can do it.

To accompany this I will have some sort of visuals for YouTube and send my version to the radio station who have been playing my music this year.

Now it is the end of November so there really is not too much time.

What I have so far is good but there is always better, especially with the vocals.

I listen back to what I have just done and want to do it again and again and again.

The real strength is also knowing when to stop and let go.

Kind of like life I suppose.

So back to the mic and the mixing. I have always wanted to produce myself and here I am starting it.

Dreams come true.

Love Yourself!
