The Altitude Of Gratitude
There is a quote often attributed to Oprah Winfrey -
'The more you are grateful for, the more you will have to be grateful for.'
My thoughts are on Oprah this week for a couple of reasons.
One of them being the 21 Day Meditation Experience that I am doing.
This is being fronted by her and Deepak Choprah.
Today is my Day 15.
When somebody who is so apparently abundant offers a nugget like that it would be foolish not to at least give some credence to their observation.
Living in the age we do there is so much to be thankful for on an everyday basis yet we are all guilty of focusing on the things we think we need and what we do not have.
Saying Thanks is like laying everything out and seeing how much space is takes up. Your personal wealth is surprising.
Most recently I am thankful for the gift of a new computer that I have received. Had this not have come my way at this time my work flow would have very soon ground to an excruiating halt. Yet I have been saved and so much more than ever can be done. I am only just realising the possibilities now.
I have always said Thank You when writing songs. It could be a lyric, a chord, anything that will turn an interesting idea into something really exciting, a piece that I am happy to put my name to and share.
When I first started writing songs I naively wondered how many I would be able to create before I ran out of ideas but that has never really happened to me.
I always have an idea of some sort. It may not be the best thing but there is always something and the future of that is then soley dependant on my willingness to work at it.
So for the opportunity to be able to see an idea further realised and in anticipation of where it will take me, I am thankful.
Love Yourself!
